About Gavin

My name is Gavin Schultz. I am seventeen, very cool and I love God.  I communicate differently than most people.  My voice is my letterboard or iPad.  People think because I have autism and struggle to speak, that I am stupid.  Well I am here to show them otherwise!  Thanks to God, who uses my weaknesses to be my strongest strengths, I am able to spell my thoughts.  Autism is just a word.  It is not who I am.  I am an intelligent young man that loves to have fun.  I have a tremendous love for God.  His amazing grace has blessed me every day.  I want to share the love of Christ with everyone because He gives our life true meaning.  I am happy with my life because God is within me.  I want to inspire and encourage those who feel they are less than anybody else so that they can be more than they ever thought they could be.  I will do the best I can to let people know we are more than a label.

  1. Gavin, This blog is wonderful.
My wife is an early childhood educator and has had (and still does) many autistic children in her classes. She is wonderful with all children, and is challenged with being only one (sometimes two) teacher in the classroom. Your abilities to communicate may help others (parents and teacher specifically) to understand autism and how to face these challenges.
